Are YOU Willing to Invest in YOURSELF?

So how good are you?  How much time, money and effort are you willing to put at risk to get your music career off the ground?  A lot of artists and bands seek out record labels hoping they will invest (more like risk) thousands of dollars on their career.  Before you ask a record label to risk the $100,000 to $1,000,000 on your career, consider how much you would be willing to risk on your own career.  How much confidence do you have that you will be a successful musical act?  After determining your confidence level, measure that against how much money, if you had, or could find the money, you think your career is worth investing in?  Put a dollar amount to it.  Then, would you personally do it?  Are you worth the investment, or would it be better to take the money, and put it into mutual funds, CD’s, or stuff it under a mattress?

I understand this is a lot of questions, but you need think about this, before you go sending off press kits and demos to labels.

When it gets down to it, if you think your music is worth the investment, why wouldn’t you invest in your career yourself?
