Our Process
Advantage Music Production has
a unique process for creating a custom recording. It's one
that has been developed over years of working with artists, producers, session
players, art directors and labels and we have yet to find a system that beats
ours for streamlining the production process.
When you contact AMP, we will open a file for you. Once your
project's requirements are determined, we generally follow the formula below.
Greater than three weeks ahead of proposed project start:
• Client contacts AMP about production services.
• AMP sends a document outlining the process.
• Client signs AMP Music Production Contract.
• Client provides a non-refundable 50% deposit.
• AMP reserves studio space and musicians.
Not less than three weeks ahead of basic recording session:
• AMP collaborates via phone, and email with Client to settle on songs and
establish the musical arrangements.
• AMP produces sheet music for the session.
One day before the basic recording session:
• Client comes to Nashville .
• AMP convenes a preproduction meeting with Client to review and approve
the music prior to the session.
Day of basic recording session:
• AMP produces the basic recording session. This will be drums, bass,
keys, guitars, and if time, Client sings some lead vocal tracks.
• Client pays additional 25% of fee at completion of basic recording
session day.
One day after basic recording session:
• AMP produces the overdub session with Client to finish vocal recording.
• Client leaves Nashville. (optional)
Up to one week after completion of recording:
• AMP will produce any follow up over dub sessions for other instruments
as required to complete the project.
• AMP compiles and mixes the record.
• AMP sends reference mixes to Client for approval.
• AMP performs revisions as mutually agreed.
• AMP sequences the album (puts the songs in order).
Up to two weeks after completion of recording:
• Client pays remaining 25% of fee (unless otherwise agreed in writing by
AMP and Client).
• AMP sends (2) CDs and session archive to Client.
• Client makes copies (duplicating or replicating) and sells them.
• Client expresses joy and satisfaction with the whole experience.
